Playing With The BBC
Reuben Feels were invited to speak, and lead creative workshops, at the first annual Global Creative Summit for BBC Worldwide.
Using our ninja immersive theatre techniques we got BBC's staff playing, creating and collaborating. BBC Worldwide creatives from across the globe were flown in to absorb two days of inspiration and training, the goal being to return to work with a more collaborative and proactive approach to creativity.
Day One was dedicated to a series of talks from inspirational speakers from the creative, media and design worlds under the topic of “Makers of the Unmissable”. Speakers included Radio 1’s Annie Nightingale, ‘Head-Artist’ (as in putting art on his head) Philip Levine, and Nik Thakkar, described by Vice Magazine as “one of London’s premiere creative minds”. Adam, our Voice of Play, joined them talking about “Making A Go Of It”. Following the talk, Adam took part in a panel discussion chaired by designer Wayne Hemingway MBE alongside Jack Horner, MD of Frukt Communications, Yes Productions, and One Minute Brief.
On Day Two Reuben got BBC Worldwide staff playing. Through workshops and exercises we immersed them in The Improvisation of Life, golden rules from the rehearsal room that facilitate creative states and collaboration. Our friends at the Beeb underwent a series of workshops led by The Feelers, as they answered one of 3 creative briefs to be presented at the end of the day to a Dragon’s Den style panel.
The day itself was led by Benjamin Southworth, who is both talented and suave. Reuben worked to reinforce the belief that the best way to learn is to Play - to be curious, to explore, to not be afraid to fail!
Thank you very much for having Reuben over to play, BBC.
