Somewhere in the US Border Control files are photos of 3 girls with paint still in their hair, ”fresh” from the Simcoe Gentlemen of the Road Stopover with Mumford and Sons.But as our tour bus rolled into Troy, the towns’ shop windows festooned with every possible celebration of Mumford & Sons, we were reignited with thoughts of who we would play with next…We quickly made friends with the accommodating locals who, while giving us lifts across town, and presenting us with some of the best coffee and chocolate ever - showed us an abundance of that famous American hospitality.As with Simcoe, we had a lead regarding our cast, but nothing concrete... So, with baited breath, we headed into Dayton Ohio for a meeting which would (we hoped) lead us to our new cast.Enter, Zoot Theatre Company; inspired storytellers and puppeteers, created by the wonderful Tristan Cupps:We were introduced to Zoot by Darren Brown, actor and puppeteer, and it was love at first sight when we stepped inside their studio. From a beautiful bouncing hare to some very grumpy green nailed ogres, we were inspired by Tristan's creations and boundless imagination. As we lead the giant whale gliding and flipping through downtown Troy to the amazement of the crowd, we knew we had found a very special creative collaboration. Hoorah.
