Reuben Feels were asked by Blazinstar and cyber-security company Symantec to create an immersive theatre experience based around the Cyber Readiness Challenge – a 200 player ‘capture the flag’ hacking game.

Our objective was to engage all 2500+ attendees at Vision’s Conference in Barcelona in order to recruit 200 Hackers for the Cyber Readiness Challenge.

The ultimate goal was to empower Symantec employees to feel good about their jobs while raising awareness of new Infosec techniques. We used a fictional news channel to set the scene – this became the official information distribution service for the conference. Our main characters existed online to drive sign-ups before the event started.

Across the 2 day event, gameplay objectives were revealed through the narrative, with player’s progress influencing the direction of story. Our actor’s briefed the hackers on the new infosec techniques needed to progress, with the resolve of the story, and the reveal of the ​Cyber Readiness Challenge winner, coming to ahead in the final hour.
