Shortlisted For Two Cannes Lions!

Imagine our surprise (we honestly didn't know) to discover that we'd been shortlisted for two of the creative industries' most prestigious awards - The Cannes Lions.

But it's not in the categories you might expect! Will Reuben Feels be treading the hallowed tarmac of the Promenade de la Croisette? Read on...Reuben Feels have been shortlisted in both the PR and Mobile categories, for two parts of the same campaign - the launch of Hurts' sophomore album, Exile. In PR, Reuben Feels developed the live element of an immersive PR campaign led by Foam London, on behalf of Sony Music, in which journalists and fans alike are recruited for a mysterious collective and inducted at the album launch party. Over 4000 people attended the launch and, well, we scared the bejeesus out of the lot of them.

In the Mobile category, we wrote and produced a companion app, a binaural audio play, in which the user can direct the action by speaking to their phone. Yes, much like the choose-your-own-adventure books you enjoyed as a whippersnapper. It was a mammoth project, not least because there were 12 unique endings to the story based on the user's choices, but also because the use of 3D, binaural sound was both a challenging brief and a liberating user experience. It was in the Guardian and everything. Needless to say we're absolutely thrilled to be recognised in this way. Simply being shortlisted is a great honour, especially for a company so young as ours. Here's looking to next year, where hopefully we'll bag a Titanium.
